BIA/SC 50+ Housing Council Announces 2011 President and Board of Directors

IRVINE, Calif.  November 5, 2010 — The 50+ Housing Council, a special interest council of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, announced the installation of the 2011 Board of Directors and the Council President of the Board, Anthony Sandoval. Mr. Sandoval is COO of Western Seniors Housing in Irvine, CA.

“I am honored to serve as President for this important council.  As our economy rebounds in the coming months and years, the 50+ Council looks forward to continuing a leadership role in the senior housing industry here in Southern California.  Through our vital education programming and networking opportunities, the Council is an excellent forum for professionals in the building and housing industry,” said Mr. Sandoval.

The 50+ Housing Council provides networking, education and partnering prospects for Southern California professionals involved in every aspect of building housing specifically for seniors. Monthly breakfast meetings feature industry experts who share their projects, experiences and insights to educate the industry in the various aspects of housing for seniors.

The 50+ Housing Council also holds the annual SAGE Awards. This program honors talented and successful individuals, projects and programs that have made outstanding contributions to enhancing the quality of life for Southern California residents aged 50+. The competition accepts entries from participating individuals and organizations that represent companies, projects and programs in Southern California from San Diego to Santa Barbara.

In addition to Mr. Sandoval, other officers were installed for 2011 and include 1st Vice President, Scott Hysler; 2nd Vice President, Janet Welch; Treasurer, Julia Moore and Secretary, Gina Nixon.  Returning board members include Deborah Biggs, The Law Offices of Kimball, Tirey & St. John; Andy Bowden, Land Concern Landscape Architecture; Pamela Bashline, Professional Community Management; Brian Dawson, Irwin, Pancake, Dawson Architects; Annie Gerard, Apt Market Research; Valerie Hardman, Outdoor Dimensions; Linda Howard, Linda Howard Interior Designs, Inc.; Chuck Kalman, Kalman Development Group, Inc.; David Kent, KTGY Group, Inc; Rita Lamkin, PREFACE Inc.50+ Marketing; Susan Sirota, Market-THINK, LLC; Ralph Spargo, 50+5 Development Group; Kristie Vikse, Rancho Mission Viejo; and Rob Williams, Studio 6 Architects.  The 50+ Council Board also elected new board member Kendall Carre of Kisco Senior Living.
